Guided tour of the Costa dei Trabocchi
The Organizing Committee proposes a social event on the afternoon of September 12th. A bus will take participants near the AURUM (venue of the conference) and, in a southerly direction - along the coast of the trabocchi - a first stop will take place with a guided visit to the Eremo Dannunziano, an historic residence in which the poet Gabriele d'Annunzio stayed in 1889 together with his lover Barbara Leoni.
In that place the Poet found inspiration and setting for the Triumph of Death, the last of the so-called trilogy of the Romances of the Rose.
The journey continues towards the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere, a 13th century monastic complex, located in the village of Fossacesia in a splendid panoramic position, composed of a basilica and a monastery.
Finally, the tour will end in a Trabocco, a typical structure that gives its name to the coast, anciently used as an instrument for fishing and currently used as a tourist attraction.
The social dinner will be within the same trabocco.
At the end of the dinner the coach will bring all the participants back to the AURUM.
